Expressionist
           Figures & StillLifes

In addition to the human figure, I enjoy painting animals, especially cows and llamas, which I love to stroke and talk to.  My intention is not to give a realistic rendering of the figure but  rather to express the beauty of each creature, the inner essence which "makes" the personality.

Nature in all its forms is always a great source of inspiration in my paintings, with plants and trees being some of my favorite themes.

My figurative-expressionist depictions of religious personages and icons represent a very personal view of and response to the subject matter.  In fact, I usually provide a detailed explanatory text to the viewer of my art.  Other images attempt to capture a feeling, a mood, or the spirituality of everyday life, often in exotic places.
